General Information

No partner needed

We regularly rotate partners in our classes, giving you the opportunity to dance with different people and practice what you’ve learned in a variety of ways.

Course Structure

Our progressive partner courses take you step by step from Beginner all the way to Advanced. In addition, we offer solo classes for different levels as well as changing Special Topic and Musicality courses.

Previous Experience

No previous experience is required for our Beginner partner course. For further courses such as Styling Beginner/Improver, Footwork or Musicality, you should have completed at least the Beginner level and be familiar with the fundamental Bachata basics.

Class Structure

Each class combines a warm-up, focused technique exercises and learning and practicing new concepts and combinations. At the end of each class, we record what we’ve learned together so you can review and practice it again at home.

Progressive Partner Courses

These courses build on each other and take you from absolute beginner all the way to an almost professional level. You don’t need a dance partner, as we regularly rotate partners during class.

Beginner

Tuesday 6–7 PM

No previous experience is required for this course. You will learn the most important fundamental elements and concepts of Bachata, building a solid foundation for all further courses. We recommend attending this level for at least one block, which consists of 8 classes. You are also welcome to repeat the course to strengthen your fundamentals, gain more confidence and prepare yourself for the next level.

Improver 1

Tuesday 7–8 PM

This course builds on the fundamentals of the Beginner course. You should already be familiar with elements such as Rompe/Completo, Paso Madrid, basic Waves and different types of turns, and feel confident with the Bachata basics. The Improver 1 level consists of Modules A and B, each lasting 8 weeks. The order in which you attend them does not matter, but both modules should be completed at least once before moving on to the next level. You are of course welcome to repeat them to further strengthen what you’ve learned.

Improver 2

Tuesday 8–9 PM

This course builds on the content of the Improver 1 level. You should already be familiar with elements such as Shadow Position, Plié, Bolero, V-Step, Quick Turns/Contra Turn and Free Spins, as well as different Basics such as Basic on the Spot and Sensual Basic. The Improver 2 level consists of Modules A, B, C and D, each lasting 8 weeks. The order in which you attend them does not matter, but all four modules should be completed at least once before moving on to the next level. You are also welcome to repeat individual modules.

Intermediate

Thursday 6–7:30 PM

This course is designed for experienced dancers who already feel confident on the dance floor and have a good repertoire of movements and combinations. You should be familiar with Sensual Bachata elements such as Waves, Pendulums, Hip Rolls, Chest Rolls and Head Movements. We work on more challenging combinations, technique, movement quality, Lead & Follow and Connection. The main focus is on Sensual Bachata and Bachazouk, complemented by Bachata Moderna and Dominican. The first 30 minutes are regularly dedicated to focused technique exercises. We recommend staying at this level for at least four blocks. The Intermediate course is a closed group, so please speak to Jules before moving up from Improver 2.

Advanced

Thursday 7:30–9 PM

This course is designed for experienced dancers who want to take their dancing to the next level. We work on complex elements and challenging combinations while continuing to refine technique and fundamentals. The focus is on precision, body control, Lead & Follow, Connection and Musicality. The Advanced course is a closed group, allowing us to work intensively at a shared level and continuously build on previous content. Participation is therefore only possible after prior consultation with Jules.

Special Courses

Everything that doesn't get enough attention in regular courses!

Dance Foundation Bootcamp

Intensive course at the beginning of the semester – 4 days, 2 hours each

Intensive course at the beginning of the semester – 4 days, 2 hours each The Dance Foundation Bootcamp is an intensive course focused on the foundations of good movement quality. We work on posture, weight transfer, balance, turns, body control and dynamics. Rather than learning new figures, the focus is on learning how to move with more stability, control and ease. The Bootcamp is regularly offered as a multi-day intensive course at the beginning of the semester and is ideal for anyone who wants to strengthen their dance foundations and improve their overall dance quality in the long term. Musicality & Special Topic Class

Musicality & Special Topic Class

Wednesday 8–9:30 PM

In this course, we focus on topics that often don’t get enough attention in our regular classes. These include Musicality, how to interpret breaks and different dynamics in the music, as well as changing technical and dance-related topics. Over 1.5 hours, we explore each concept in more detail and apply it directly to partner dancing through exercises, combinations and practical tools. The course is suitable for everyone from Improver 1 to Advanced who wants to develop their Bachata skills and take their dancing to the next level.
